"As an Environmental Health Specialist, with the City of Albuquerque, I have been using Decade Software in the field for over 6 years. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to manage 3 programs (Food, Swimming Pools and Body Art) with over 750 permits without this software.
From “My home page” I am able to choose tasks such as; “Maintain daily time and activities”, “Complaint Processing”, “Inspection and Survey”, “Program Management” and “Print reports”. By clicking on “Daily Time and Activity Dispatch Center” I am able to customize the view to see ANYTHING, for ANY timeframe, for ANY inspector.
Finding facility contacts, phone numbers, history, previous inspection date, etc. is right at my fingers.
With EnvisionConnect I am able to organize my assigned district using the “Inspection and Survey Center”. I choose the headings that I wish to sort on. I prefer to view my district first by street name (in alpha order) and then by street number (in numerical order). By editing my filter builder I am able to create what we fondly refer to as a “Magical Disappearing List”, where our permit totals diminish as we conduct inspections!
Another great feature, that our software administrator was able to customize for us, shows us on the first screen of the inspection entry (“Enter Inspection Details”) what the facility owners’ State Tax ID number is and when their health permit expires. This helps us to verify if the facility has changed ownership and / or is operating with a valid health permit.
We are able to enter preopening inspections in the “Service Request Dispatch Center”. If we need to we can create or respond to a service request created by our administrative assistant, field operations officer or a supervisor.
The scenarios and applications seem endless to me. I do not believe that we are utilizing EnvisionConnect to its full potential, for example we are not using the Wi Fi technology yet.
EnvisionConnect has greatly cut down on the use and loss of copy paper and NCR (No Carbon Required) forms. Using E-Bridge we were able to eliminate hard facility files, our administrative assistant is able to search and find anything that has been scanned into the system within seconds! What an amazing lifeline to have when I’m in the field!"
