"My job requires a lot of research to answer questions posed by the City Council Members, the public, other departments and my staff. Because of Envision, I have come to be known as the answer man around here. I have a reputation of being one of the very few in the city that can answer questions quickly and accurately – even the City’s IT support staff says it’s so!

Using Envision I can search using any field, find a record, and look at the big picture for that facility (complaint, what have you – ) in seconds. We track everything from contractors to abandoned property.

On dangerous buildings/abandoned structures we can track time frames and involved people from the very first phone call, through the notification and public hearing process, all the way to the final demolition of a property by a private contractor.  In searching for information on a case like this, we can search dates, addresses, names, inspection types, citations issued, or liens placed to quickly find out and open up other areas of the case history.

We regularly have citizens that call in with only an address or a citation number and have questions regarding their case.  With Envision, we can ask for a name, address, citation number, or date and quickly look up the case and relay information back to the citizen.

Here’s a neat feature that saves us a lot of time – it’s known as Envision Extender and it is used to look up data in our property database to validate addresses, owners, and other like information. It saves us hours of data entry, practically eliminates data entry errors, and because it has a feature that runs overnight, when a change of ownership is recorded in the property database, our data is updated automatically."
